God’s Children

God’s children

It was customary for a mother to bring her children to a rabbi for a blessing, and that is why these mothers gathered around Jesus. The disciples, however, thought the children were unworthy of the Master's time-less important than whatever else he was doing. But Jesus welcomed them because little children have the kind of faith and trust needed to enter God's kingdom. It is important that we introduce our children to Jesus.

“People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭18‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflections

Indeed we can learn life lessons from the little ones. I recently saw a video on how a little kid diffuse a very harsh situation where the father was scolding her brother.. check this out: https://youtube.com/shorts/w23CLC3fY3w?si=pUmEyT8lqItMdFwh

She later on led her brother away leaving her dad there.. how precious are these kids who realised even at this young age what love means? It is not harsh beatings or scoldings but just comfort and love. But many people my age grew up being beaten as that was perhaps also how their parents treated them. That cycle continues till someone as a parent realised that violence cannot solve problems. In fact it creates more social issues.

Children’s love is so pure. Everything is on their faces. They cry when they are unhappy and laugh when are happy. Unless us adults who sometimes wore a mask the moment we stepped out of our rooms. We judged and were judged. We didn’t want people to know what we feel, so we hide.. tiresome isn’t it? If only we can or are like children who can freely express ourselves in some safe places, it will become a mental issue down the line.

I thank God for church, especially for my own cell group and some close friends whom I can be real with. Some new and some old ones which I have made along the way, they have loved me as I am. Truly grateful for the Lord for placing them into my life. Thank You Lord. 🙏🏻
