Persistent Prayer

To persist in prayer and not give up does not mean endless repetition or painfully long prayer sessions. Always praying means keeping our requests constantly before God as we live for him day by day, believing he will answer. When we live by faith, we are not to give up. God may delay answering, but his delays always have good reasons. As we persist in prayer we grow in character, faith, and hope.

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”Luke‬ ‭18‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflections

This parable talks about the persistent widow who did not gave up and also reminds me that I ought not to give up asking and praying because I know for sure He will definitely answer.

It may not be according to what I ask but I know He will answer in the best manner and at the most perfect timing. Even if He did not answer, I should still persevere to pray for it. I probably just have to wait a little longer.

Many things are just beyond us and to a certain point, I believe there are reasons for perseverance for it builds up our hope and our faith. To me, until or unless I hear a specific no from Him, I will continue to pray. Because there are many instances where He answers at the right moment just before the deadline or even before the deadline. In moments when I think maybe something won’t work, He showed me that in Him nothing is impossible. He can change things just overnight, even turn situations around.

In Him there is hope, we just need to persevere
