The Narrow Door
Finding salvation requires more concentrated effort than most people are willing to put forth. Obviously, we cannot save ourselves-there is no way we can work ourselves into God's favor. The effort we must put out "to enter the narrow door" is earnestly desiring to know Jesus and diligently striving to follow him whatever the cost. We dare not put off making this decision because the door will not stay open forever.
““Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’”Luke 13:24-25 NIV

Reflections
This bible verse is a total situation reverse from Revelation 3:20. It reads, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me." The Lord wishes to have a personal relationship with us and He does not force His way in. Instead, He lets choose what we want. So long we are ready, we can open that door and He is there, awaiting for us to invite Him into our life. However, the caveat is that this door does not remain open forever. There will be a time where it will be closed. Where the gospel has been spread to the edges of the world and people choose not to open it. That's where grace will end. That is where there will no more chances of us finding Jesus outside our door.
Even as we rush to find Jesus, we will find Him behind a closed door. The heavens gate do not wait and those we had already entered the gate have entered into eternal life. We will be left behind, to be burnt in fire. It's a scary thought.
The time to want to know Him is now, not a week / month / year later. We do not know when He will come and by then all will be too late.
