Your Kingdom Come

The Pharisees asked when God's kingdom would come, not knowing that it had already arrived. The kingdom of God is not like an earthly kingdom with geographical boundaries. Instead, it begins with the work of God's Spirit in people's lives and in relationships. Still today we must resist looking to institutions or programs for evidence of the progress of God's kingdom. Instead, we should look for what God is doing in people's hearts.

“Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.””Luke‬ ‭17‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflections

Whenever we prayed the Lord’s Prayer, we will recite.. “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven..” and if we did recite this, do we mean in our hearts what we are saying to our Father?

It can look like this. Every Sunday we attend church service and recite the Lord’s Prayer as part of our liturgy. But have we meant every word we are saying to God as part of our worship, including the songs we sing praises to the Lord for? Cos if we did say and we don’t do it, we are breaking promises with our Father every week. What good does that do? And if we meant every word we say, good! And do we apply it into our daily lives?

Daily it is a challenge to live for God, to keep choosing Him, to carry that cross and follow Him. To allow Him to take lead of our lives and just run it. We allow for His kingdom come, His will be done… we are to have the open heart all for Him to reshape our hearts so that we can bear fruit. We allow Him to plan our paths and chart the future because the trust is in the right place. It can only be rested in Him and no where else.
