Be watchful
Jesus told the disciples to keep a constant watch for his return. Although nearly 2,000 years have passed since he spoke these words, their truth remains: Christ is coming again, and we need to watch and be spiritually fit. This means working faithfully at the tasks God has given us. Don't let your mind and spirit be dulled by careless living, drinking, or the foolish pursuit of pleasure. Don't let life's anxieties overburden you, so that you will be ready to move at God's command.
““Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.””
Luke 21:34-36 NIV

Reflections
We have all been called to put on our full armour. We are to be ready for battle. Once we come to Christ, we are in constant battles. Some easy and some hard ones. In each battle, the Lord leads the way and we follow.
But what happens after a battle? We rest, recuperate, repair, renew and get ready again for we cannot afford to slack. The enemy would be most happy to find you slacking away and is still finding a chance to devour, steal, kill and destroy. The moment who slack, fall away, start having doubts or question life, etc., the enemy gains a foothold. He looks for fear, bitterness, anger, grudges, complacency, pride, hatred, unforgiveness, violence, confusion, etc and ride on it. He builds that tree in our minds and tries real hard to let it take root. Be wary and don’t allow that to happen.
We aren’t saints, very human and experience our ups and downs in life. There are moments where we felt real close to God and perhaps times when He felt really distant. But we know for sure He is never far off. It is always us that is pushing Him away, telling Him to wait, finding excuses that we cannot, we are too busy, etc etc etc.
Where is God in our life? If we have an “open heart surgery”, would God see Himself there? Did He became a thing that we use? What would be our attitude towards Him? May we stay watchful and remain spiritually fit even when we feel tired.
