Do you believe

Jesus says that those who believe in him have (not will have) everlasting life. To receive eternal life is to join in God's life, which by nature is eternal. Thus, eternal life begins at the moment of spiritual rebirth.


“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”John‬ ‭3‬:‭36‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflections

One of the sisters I know who is a non-believer said this when asked if she has felt God speaking to her. That whenever she comes to church, she felt this peace in her heart but the moment she steps out of church and her mobile rang, vulgarities will freely come out of her mouth. And she saw how a friend of her also transformed because the way she speaks was so calm and composed and not like before where she was so very easily agitated. She attributed the moments where God spoke to her as coincidence, that the Lord just happened to be “speaking” to her. This was echoed by another friend who is also a non-believer but visited the church every Sunday.


My mouth opened and this words came out of my mouth as I looked at the both of them“but you experience this more than once correct?” Both of them nodded. So I continued to say “so how many coincidences you want to realise He is really speaking to you?” One of them was really tickled when I said that cos she remembered in the video how the Lord had to show Nicky Gumbel a large billboard to confirm and double confirm that He was truly speaking to him! So both understood!! Hallelujah!


God truly speaks to us in His own unique ways. Even if the pastor preached the same sermon to the whole congregation, each may receive a different part of learning and key takeaways for that. He speaks directly into our hearts and that experience is real and can be real only if we open the hearts to receive. Transformation can happen the moment we said yes. Praise You Lord! 🙌🏻

He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” (John 6:5).

Year One Readings: 2 Kings 15 2 Kings 16 2 Kings 17 John 6:1-21 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do (John 6:6).  He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” (John 6:5). Jesus doesn’t ask the above question to Philip because He needs an answer; our Lord knows all things. The Good Shepherd’s question has a twofold effect: It shows the inability of men to meet the needs of mankind and displays the impossibility of feeding the vast multitude. Philip should have turned to Jesus and said, “For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37). This is the first miracle the disciples participate in with the Lord. Amazingly, Jesus provides “as much [bread and fish] as they wanted” (John 6:11). The verb “they wanted” occurs in the imperfect tense, showing continual action in past time.
