Following His will
Jesus did not work independently of God the Father, but in union with him. This should give us even more assurance of being welcomed into God's presence and being protected by him. Jesus' purpose was to do the will of God, not to satisfy Jesus' human desires. When we follow Jesus, we should have the same purpose.
“All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.”
John 6:37-38 NIV

Reflections
How do we know the will of God then? How would I know what the Lord wants me to do?
I guess in our own journeys, the Lord would have told or shown us things, either to teach us or to perhaps challenge us. Once it is made known to us, our next steps would be to take action.
For example, if we learnt that we ought love others as ourselves, how would that look like? It is self reflective that we look into our lives and ask if we managed to do that. And God has told us to love our enemies too. One of the hardest things to do I believe and I don’t think anyone may be able to do it overnight. All these changes take time but our focus is still there. It doesn’t change. To me, it kind of felt that a really long chapter of my life that I don’t know when it’s going to end. Ya think of Taiwanese drama which drags pretty long.. haha
Fact is, His teachings don’t change. If we don’t get past this or at least achieve a pass in that season, we won’t be able to move past that. It’s a cycle. There are for sure easy or difficult seasons. Our Father ain’t so bad to keep pushing us through the hard lessons but this is something we cannot avoid as a Christian. So yeah, look to Him for answers, ask Him for extra mercy and grace to help us through, granting us wisdom and knowledge to understand His will. If we seek Him, He will answer for sure.
