Jesus’s love

Jesus’s love
To love others was not a new commandment, but to love others as much as Christ loved others was revolutionary. Now we are to love others based on Jesus' sacrificial love for us. Such love will not only bring unbelievers to Christ; it will also keep believers strong and united in a world hostile to God. Jesus was a living example of God's love, as we are to be living examples of Jesus' love.
““A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”John 13:34 NIV

Reflections
We do not live as the world live. Romans 12:2 came to mind while I was reading this devotion. It says “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Though the verse came from the book of Romans, but we ain’t supposed to do in Rome what Romans do. 😬
We are not taught to do and follow what all the rest of the people are doing. I realised many who are of a different religion do not know what they are doing. They only blindly follow what the others are doing. They don’t even question why they are burning paper clothes or money and where it goes after. Like the world is so full of people who do things blindly, without logic or common sense or understanding. There’s a lack of critical thinking in many things. I asked someone who burned paper stuffs to her parents who passed away. Where is all these papers going to? If you truly believe that your parents are in heaven why are you burning all these things? Then after a while she’s like, ya hor.. burn for what? I’m like exactly!
However, the main point is still to love others at a higher level then the world do. Scripture says “If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?” -Matthews 5:46; ““If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.”-Luke 6:32. Because that is what calling and that is what we are being told to do. What the tax collectors or sinners do are nothing uncommon but Jesus wanted us to do something more, to love the people who sin against us, do wrong to us, etc.
He says to love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. And we all know what kind of love Jesus gives. He loves all man, regardless of who they are and has dictated the same the us. As He has loved us, so we must love one another, which also means if we have felt even a tinge of love from God, we ought to replicate that love to the others.
