Love to the end
Jesus knew he would be betrayed by one of his disciples, disowned by another, and deserted by all of them for a time. Still, he "loved them to the very end." God knows us completely, as Jesus knew his disciples. He knows the sins we have committed and the ones we will yet commit. Still, he loves us. How do you respond to that kind of love?
“It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.”John 13:1 NIV

Reflections
I’m just grateful, thankful and received so much grace, mercy and love from Christ. Whatever awful things we had done before, whatever things we did even after we knew Him and for whatever wrongs that we may be doing, He looks past all that. He still loves us, even though we are so undeserving, ungrateful at times, etc.
His love knows no bounds! And that is so so amazing! But if I reverse the picture and look at myself who is supposed to live a Christ-risen life, how I loved others like how He loves me? I’m afraid not. Many a times we love others because they treat us well, they care for us and they love us. What about the not so lovable ones? Should they be denied of such love? That would be selfish to only want good things for ourselves but not for our fellow brothers and sisters. We ain’t very different from them. We all have the same Lord and we are all fellow servants of our Master. Who is greater? No one. The only one who can be called great is the Lord, our Creator, our Abba Father and the King of Kings.
Christ’s love is not easy to learn but He has portrayed it in such a way that is clear. No confusion. It is selfless, giving, forgiving, gracious, merciful, loving most of all. It has no target audience. Everyone is the same, subject to the same love and the same judgement. An important reminder to myself to love others as myself, to love my enemies even. To be the peacemaker and the light of the world, so that when others see me, they don’t see me but the light of Jesus that is shining through me. To God be the glory! ๐๐ป
