True freedom
Jesus himself is the truth that sets us free. He is the source of truth, the perfect standard of what is right. He frees us from the consequences of sin, from self-deception, and from deception by Satan. He shows us clearly the way to eternal life with God. Thus Jesus does not give us freedom to do what we want, but freedom to follow God. As we seek to serve God, Jesus' perfect truth frees us to be all that God meant us to be.
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.””John 8:32 NIV

Reflections
I guess in my own explanation, I can say that knowing the truth is like having perfect eyesight. We are able to see really clearly what is black and what is white and is able to determine which ones are the dark greys or cream which looks like the real thing but it’s actually a bit off.
His freedom gives us a new perspective when looking at things or situations and grants us this wisdom to do the right things or say the right words because it is all Spirit led. Otherwise, weird things may appear in our heads and the next thing we know, strange things come out from our mouths if we do not discern or exercise good self control.
Knowing the truth sets us free from our own negativity, our own sense of worth about ourselves and who we are to the Lord. It was never about who we are but who He is. The center focus or the limelight is on Jesus, never human. The gifts and talents came from the Lord, not our own intelligence or strength. All the possessions we have are blessings from Him and a reminder that He knows and cares about us. The breaths that we take are a reminder that He is giving us life and we are to continue in our daily walk to carry up our crosses and follow Him till the day He calls us home. Because we are also so sure of our salvation, we too have no fear in death or being alive.
