No fear in death

Because of Christ's death and resurrection, his followers need never fear death. That assurance frees us to enjoy fellowship with him and to do his will. This will affect all our activities-work, worship, play, Bible study, quiet times, and times of caring for others. When you know that you don't have to fear death, you will experience a new vigor in life.

“Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.”Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflections

From what I know, the fear of death does not strike a younger person, or perhaps it’s not that common. I hear the fear of death being spoken by the elderly, especially those who are alone and lonely. However, truth be told, they aren’t afraid of dying, they are afraid of dying alone, not having anyone beside them, dying a lonely soul.

Friends, may I encourage you, that death is not alone. It will never be, because we have the Lord who is always with us, who holds our hands in good times and bad, who walks with us till the very end. His angels surround us every single day. How can we be alone? We may not physically see them but they are definitely there and we know it.

I get really encouraged by the elderlies who still continue to serve the Lord past their retirement age. Their zeal for the Lord and His people fuels my fire for the Lord. If they can do it, so can I. Though I do hope at one point I am retired so I can make more time to serve. God has a funny way of granting my wish. He puts me in church instead. Hahaha.

So let us live our lives for the Lord, bring Him the glory! There’s no fear in death then what else is there to fear?!
