Our aim in life

We often feel that life is a failure unless we're getting a lot out of it: recognition, fun, money, success. But Paul considered life worth nothing unless he used it for God's work. What he put into life was far more important than what he got out. Which is more important to you-what you get out of life, or what you put into it?

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. ‭‭Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflections

So what is my aim in life? I think to me it’s simple. I don’t ask for a lot. Just basic needs is enough for me, so long as I have no lack and maybe if possible still able to bless others. I don’t need glamorous titles or awards, though some recognition is always encouraging.. haha but truly, I rather that recognition came from God, who will say to me, good job! My good and faithful servant!

Think of it this way. We are all servants of Christ since we all serve the same master and call Him Lord. So there isn’t any difference or it doesn’t matter, what title we hold, what salary we take and what university we come out of. Ultimately like people always say, we all lay in the small space meant for burial and nobody really gets a bigger coffin due to the above reasons.

Our life is meant to glorify God. Our works are meant to bring Him into the light. We are to love others as how Christ loves us. This is not a choice, this is His command for all His children. Therefore, take some time to ponder over our giving. In terms of our money, our time, our energy. What proportion of it goes to worship Him? If it is not Him then what other places are we putting those in? It may be time for us to reflect, repent and to respond in a different manner how we utilise our resources in our day to day life.
