Salvation in Jesus

Salvation in Jesus

Many people react negatively to the fact that there is no other name than that of Jesus to call on for salvation. Yet this is not something the church decided; it is the specific teaching of Jesus himself. If God designated Jesus to be the Savior of the world, no one else can be his equal. Christians are to be open-minded on many issues, but not on how we are saved from sin. No other religious teacher could die for our sins; no other religious teacher came to earth as God's only Son; no other religious teacher rose from the dead. Our focus should be on Jesus, whom God offered as the way to have an eternal relationship with himself. There is no other name or way!

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.””Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflections

Perhaps we are people of options. When we are given none, it is where to start complaining. Perhaps we think it is unfair, unjust that people do not have any choices apart from Jesus.

Two different things I feel. One is if you do not know Jesus so you cannot choose Him. The other is where you already know Him but refused to accept Him into your life. One is just innocence whereas the other is rejection. We will not be able to help anyone who rejects us but we definitely can help those who have yet to know us. Not forgetting that rejection, is a choice.

The Lord has been giving us grace and been gentle with us. The option to choose still lies with us,  even though the options can be obvious but that is still a decision that needs to be made. He allows that choice in our lives, perhaps as a test of whether we are ready or as a test of our faith.

The bible has also already mentioned that it is a narrow gate that we are going by. It didn’t say that there are multiple doors everywhere that are huge and easily entered. It points to us that in order to enter through that gate, we will have to be super intentional of our choosing, our abiding and of our own sacrifice. Who is Lord over our lives?
