Trust God’s timetable

Trust God’s timetable
Like other Jews, the disciples chafed under their Roman rulers. They wanted Jesus to free Israel from Roman power and then become their king. Jesus replied that God the Father sets the timetable for all events-worldwide, national, and personal. If you want changes that God isn't making immediately, don't become impatient. Instead, trust God's timetable.
“Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.”Acts 1:6-7 NIV

Reflections
We have to understand that God’s plans and thoughts are higher than ours and He too, has the ability make things happen in their perfect timing. At the moment in time, we may not understand why we need to wait. What we see as a golden opportunity to act may not be so in God’s eyes. What we thought is a perfect plan may not exactly work in His favour. As such, it will too get us chafed because we couldn’t understand why He doesn’t when He could have.
In the above devotional, we all know what happened after and how the Lord has fulfilled what was prophesied. It was not what the disciples thought it would be. This is worldwide not even nationwide. This is Him being the Lord of all, not just for Jews. Jesus will become King but not in the way they understand it to be.
Can we then trust in the Lord to just bring things to pass? Can we not feel angry or frustrated when things refused to go our way? Can we surrender to God in a manner that tells Him how much we can trust and have faith in Him? Because not even Jesus knows the time but He just continues to trust the Father, which we should do likewise as well.
