Fruit of the Spirit
The fruit of the Spirit is the spontaneous work of the Holy Spirit in us. The Spirit produces these character traits that are found in the nature of Christ. They are the by-products of Christ's control-we can't obtain them by trying to get them without his help. If we want the fruit of the Spirit to grow in us, we must join our lives to his. We must know him, love him, remember him, and imitate him. As a result, we will fulfill the intended purpose of the law-to love God and our neighbors. Which of these qualities do you want the Spirit to produce in you?
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”Galatians 5:22-23 NIV

Reflections
Yeah indeed the fruit of the Spirit is a by-product of Christ’s control. It is also known as fruit of the Spirit and not fruits of the Spirt because we cannot really separate them out from the rest. So asking which of the qualities do I want the Spirit to produce in me kind of felt like asking me which part of the body do I find useless? ๐
Not sure if you noticed that the first fruit that was named is love. For love is the very first thing that God wants us to know even before we know Him fully. He wants us to know that we are deeply loved, cared for as His children. When we have love, the rest kind of just follows, don’t you think?
When we have love, joy and peace will follow. Each and every quality will just continue to grow. All glory be to God.
