We are called by God

Because God was guiding his ministry, Paul wasn't doing anything that God hadn't already planned and given him power to do. Similarly, God told Jeremiah that God had called him, even before he was born, to do special work for God. God knows you intimately as well, and he chose you to be his even before you were born. He wants you to draw close to him and to fulfill the purpose he has for your life.


“But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflections

Even before we are born, we are called and chosen by God for His purpose. When we were woven in our mother’s womb, we were made for that intent. His intent was clear and He also loves us, watching our every move and turn in the womb and walking with us after we are born, all for His specific purpose.


“But I do not know the purpose of my life as it has yet to be revealed to me?” You ask. Indeed, not all of us know it yet but it will be revealed to us at the opportune time. Seek the Lord and pray. Ask the Lord to reveal to us His plan and His heart. Ask the Lord to guide us in His revelations and turn our hearts towards Him, making it razor sharp so that it will be really clear to us. Fill us with Your strength too Lord, that we will not waver nor be afraid but just continue to trust in You and Your promises. Fix our eyes on the Almighty God and on nothing else.

How are you responding to Jesus’ hospitality as an honored guest?

If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3:20). How are you responding to Jesus’ hospitality as an honored guest? Traditionally the two most honored guests at the feast would recline on the right and left hand of the host. He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” (John 6:5).

Year One Readings: 2 Kings 15 2 Kings 16 2 Kings 17 John 6:1-21 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do (John 6:6).  He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” (John 6:5). Jesus doesn’t ask the above question to Philip because He needs an answer; our Lord knows all things. The Good Shepherd’s question has a twofold effect: It shows the inability of men to meet the needs of mankind and displays the impossibility of feeding the vast multitude. Philip should have turned to Jesus and said, “For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37). This is the first miracle the disciples participate in with the Lord. Amazingly, Jesus provides “as much [bread and fish] as they wanted” (John 6:11). The verb “they wanted” occurs in the imperfect tense, showing continual action in past time.
