He has full control
Jesus was God's agent in creating the world. As followers of Christ, we may give easy assent to this truth but deny it in practice. We may believe that Christ knows and controls the laws of heaven (pertaining to salvation and spiritual growth), but we may act each day as though our financial, family, or medical problems are beyond his reach. If Jesus could create the universe, then no part of life is out of his control. Do not exclude Jesus' wisdom and the Bible's guidance in your complex problems of life. No expert, professor, doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor knows more about your ultimate security and well-being than Jesus does. Go first to God for advice. Talk to him in prayer and listen to him in his Word. He can sustain you in times of stress. From that perspective you can evaluate all the other wisdom and help made available to you.
“but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.”
Hebrews 1:2 NIV

Reflections
I think what is being shared in this devotional is so true. We are kind of being conditioned to go to a doctor when we are sick, to go to a lawyer when we have legal issues, etc. This is very typical of anyone, including myself. Perhaps we need to shift gears and focus on God first. Go to Him for all issues, be it physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Indeed, who knows all things better than Him?
Again, I am reminded that we ought to lean on Him and not our own understanding. Especially when we start to get irritated, frustrated, angry, or any negative emotions that may start to flare and heading to an extreme. Or perhaps, it is also situations where we meet unreasonable or strange people. I think the best way to handle it is with love. Not doubts, questioning or even putting another person down. Even when faced with medical issues, seek Him first.
I had experienced a first hand emergency situation. It was almost midnight and I am alone at home when I suddenly experienced a sharp pain on my lower right abdomen. Having some medical knowledge as well, I tested for rebound tenderness as I suspect it to be acute appendicitis. Not very sure but the pain is rather bad. I commit everything to God in prayer and knew I had to go to the hospital straightaway. The ED doctor initially diagnosed me with appendicitis but suddenly paused and decided to ask the gynae doctor to just do a scan for me, just to rule out any gynae issues. True enough, the gynae told me they suspected ovarian torsion (where my ovary got twisted somehow) and had to undergo emergency surgery (otherwise blood supply to my ovary may get cut off and it will die). They also found two cysts, one on each side of my ovary, measuring 5 & 8cm respectively. I have immense peace in my heart though and committed all into His hands.
Even during my recent medical mission, I accidentally hit my forehead onto a part of truck while getting out of it. Strangest thing happened. My pain was not at the forehead where the impact was but at the back of my head. I was slightly dizzy but vision was ok. The ache remained like a dull pain for abt 2 days and I was feeling nauseous the first night and couldn’t sleep properly and was suspecting there’s quite a high chance I may suffer from concussion from the presenting symptoms. Asked for prayers and I told God, He had to heal me if this medical mission is meant to go on. I can’t lead in that state and praise the Lord, before the team arrived, I was fully healed. I got this sense that it was the enemy’s final attempt to try stop me from doing God’s work but God is good! He is already victorious! When He wills it nothing can stop Him! Amen!
He has been teaching me how to trust Him and step by step, I begin to learn and He reinforces His teachings each time. May we all be encouraged to just go to our Lord whenever any situation crops up and not panic. Not be nervous about anything even and just trust Him, totally.
