Be attached to heaven

We should not be attached to this world, because all that we are and have here is temporary. Only our relationship with God and our service to him will last. Don't store up your treasures here; store them in heaven.


“For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.”

Reflections

Indeed, everything of this world is fleeting, passing like clouds, mists, vapour… It will never stay forever. It either rots, decomposes, disintegrates, dies, dissipates, dissolves, destroys, etc. Nothing is permanent. The only one thing that is, is our Lord and Father.


This brings us to another important point. If everything is just temporary, why do we get so overly concerned with so many things? For example, we get angry when things don’t go our way. We get upset when we don’t do well in our papers. We grieve because we got terminated by our company. We get frustrated when people get unreasonable and demanding. There are just so many more. However, today I learnt this. Whatever we choose to focus on gets amplified. 


If we choose to focus on whatever problems and issues that we have tackle, we will just end up in a spiral of its own-never-ending. It drags us down and pushes out even the last bit of positivity in us. However, if we can, to be able to focus on our God, everything else becomes small. Because He is just soooooo BIG! What are those problems to Him?! So if we focus on Him, everything else becomes nothing, something that we are not much of a concern of. It will not be able to gain a foothold in our life.


So friends, know and choose your battles 🙏🏻☺️

If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3:20). How are you responding to Jesus’ hospitality as an honored guest? He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” (John 6:5).

Year One Readings: 2 Kings 15 2 Kings 16 2 Kings 17 John 6:1-21 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do (John 6:6).  He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” (John 6:5). Jesus doesn’t ask the above question to Philip because He needs an answer; our Lord knows all things. The Good Shepherd’s question has a twofold effect: It shows the inability of men to meet the needs of mankind and displays the impossibility of feeding the vast multitude. Philip should have turned to Jesus and said, “For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37). This is the first miracle the disciples participate in with the Lord.
