Believe and not doubt

If you have ever seen the constant rolling of huge waves at sea, you know how restless they are-subject to the forces of wind, gravity, and tide. Doubt leaves a person as unsettled as the restless waves. If you want to stop being tossed about, rely on God to show you what is best for you. Ask him for wisdom, and trust that he will give it to you. Then your decisions will be sure and solid.

“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”James‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflections

Doubts are like addictive substances. Once you take it, you have and wanted more of it.

Have you met people who think too much? You ask them a simple question and they go on and on about other things as well and may end up not really answering you at all ๐Ÿ˜…. At work, they too will tend to procrastinate rather than work. They think of the mounting tasks that they are supposed to do and lament about how they are never going to finish and start thinking about of consequences about it, instead of getting to the work proper. In life, they are probably the ones who complain so much as well!!

Doubts easily takes us away from our joy. It plants seeds of negativity in our minds, making us forget the truths that we learnt. Not only that, it makes us question our existence in the world. Sounds familiar? These are all the devil’s tactics to try derail us from our paths. If you happen to know anyone who has doubts, help them to anchor themselves in God’s word. Not only will it bring about peace, it brings about equilibrium in our lives
